About Cary Weston

“Why hasn’t anyone asked me that before?”
I hear that question a lot.
Why?
Well, first because I’m curious and I tend to ask a lot of questions.
But more importantly, because I can only be helpful if I understand the situation – your situation. Which means understanding your company, your customers, and your capacity.
Why your capacity? Because coaching means helping you and your team do more – and understand more – on your own.
It’s the old ‘give a fish / teach to fish’ analogy.
Ok – but you didn’t come here for stories.

Who Am I?
I am a business owner. I know what’s it like to make payroll – and stress out about doing it.
I was a partner in a marketing firm I help found for 20 years and one point had nearly 20 employees.
Now – I’m on my own.
Focusing on coaching and consulting a select group of clients that are tired of getting generic advice and lackluster results.
I’m a podcast host, trainer, and speaker. Helping curious folks become more comfortable and confident using the power of ChatGPT for their personal and professional needs.
I’m a husband to amazing woman, who has a business of her own.
I’m a father of three, and every day, I try to teach my kids what it means to look someone in the eye, shake their hand, say please and thank you, and follow through on their promises.
Those things still matter.
Maybe more now than ever.
I’ve always found myself acting as a bridge – deciphering, translating, helping others make sense of what’s in front of them.
Simplifying. Prioritizing. And being accountable.
I believe most problems – in business and life – come down to questions and communication.
Many marketing folks – agencies included – come with their solution in hand before they even talk with you … and simply wait for you to stop talking so they can sell those to you.
Screw that.
That’s where the questions come in. I want to meet you where you’re at.
I believe in function over form, substance over flash, and that common sense isn’t as common as it should be.
Three Random Personal Nuggets:
- I’ve been the Mayor of Bangor, Maine.
- I’ve sat in Stephen King’s kitchen.
- I can juggle and say the alphabet backwards (yes, at the same time)
I love summers at camp and winters on the ski slopes (mostly avoiding trees).
I think A1 steak sauce is a national treasure.
And I believe that the best conversations happen when people are willing to be real with each other.
So, if you’re tired of wasting time, talent, and money on marketing your business – that very business that’s the lifeline to your personal and professional life – then let’s let’s have a real conversation.
And see if we might be good for each other.
